Letter from Our Pastor
Dear Friends,
For some years now, we have spoken of and looked forward to the time when South County Christian Center would expand beyond our current borders. I’ve been proud of the way our ministry team has utilized every square foot of our current facilities. These facilities have served us well, but we’ve outgrown them!
Throughout the years, many of you have joined with us in praying earnestly about this. I remember well one evening when our Servant’s Council joined me at the four corners of our current property in gratitude for what God had given us and at the same time praying for God to enlarge our borders. And God has answered. He has provided us an opportunity to purchase an incredible facility less than two miles away! This spacious facility, on more than 18 acres, will provide the ministry space to reach our community for years to come. It is with great expectation that I invite you to join us in this journey of faith.
Over the next few weeks, you will hear more about City on a Hill, our capital stewardship campaign. We’re calling it that because we believe God is giving us this church “on the hill” at 5001 Little Rock Road to help us fulfill His challenge—to be a city on a hill that “cannot be hidden” (Matthew 5:14). This campaign, through God’s guidance and grace, will help us reach the financial goals needed.
As part of City on a Hill, every household is asked to prayerfully consider making a sacrificial commitment (above your ongoing tithes and offerings) to be given throughout the next three years. We are inviting individuals to invest in our church’s future so we can reach more people than ever before.
Please watch your mailbox for an invitation to attend one of the Vision Gatherings. These informal meetings will educate you about the campaign, answer any questions you might have and encourage you to make this a special matter of personal prayer.
Following receipt of your invitation, someone from our team will contact you to confirm your attendance. Please know that your participation in one of the Vision Gatherings is very important and that no financial commitments will be taken at these meetings.
As we launch this campaign, we need your prayers. Pray for God’s leadership in this effort and His blessing on it. Also, pray that God will show you, personally, what He would like to do through you.
Thank you for what you have done to bring South County Christian Center this far. We look forward to you joining us in the next step God has for us.
